Now we’re finally going, yeah? We’re past the introduction stage that Beginnings and Gatherings gave us and into the thick of things. I have to say that Art is one of my very favorite episodes of this show. We get that perfect mix of bizarre and still relatable that this show is so good at. This episode gives us the zombie parody, too, which is most excellent. Simon Pegg has said that if you watched Spaced you can see the genres they wanted to get into, and this is definitely a good example.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Summer DVD Review - Gingerbread

I was excited to discover over the weekend that IMDB.com has all of the seasons of Buffy on their site to watch, so for those of you who do not have the DVDs, that is an option to experience the episodes.

I have to admit, having Joyce fight with Buffy was the highlight of the episode, and probably the only part I really liked about it! But, unfortunately, it lead to a dreadful episode as Buffy’s mom finds two dead children laying in the playground and makes it her mission to find the killer.

This is a Public Service Announcement: At this time we would ask that all viewers and readers please abandon any prior knowledge of Arthurian lore that you may have, as it has no bearing whatsoever on this show. Seriously. This is a show about kings and knights and magic and dragons, and it is pretty good in a family friendly, benign, pre-watershed BBC kind of way. But if you’re an Arthurian purist, run fast and far, for this show will bring you only pain. For the rest of us, let’s just enjoy the quirky fun, yes?
That concludes our Public Service Announcement.

So, we have here for your reading pleasure, the recap of Merlin.

True Blood - Keep the Party Going (Air Date: 6-21-2009)

This week on True Blood, I laughed, I cringed, I felt really sorry for some of the actors. In this episode, Eric makes with the threatening and biting, Pam plays beauty parlor, Bill becomes bi-polar, Maryann unleashes her crazy pheromones on the poor people of Bon Temps, and Sookie continues to be played by Anna Paquin...unfortunately.

Merlin - Valiant (Air Date: 6-21-2009)

A quick note from your faithful recapper: Apparently, episode two aired right after the premier, but I didn’t realize it. D’oh! Sorry about that. On with the recap!

Episode two is good because Arthur is surprisingly complex, Merlin’s darn near usurping Tennant’s Doctor for most adorkable, and Tony Head is squeezing out more emotion than the writing should logically allow. It has flaws, yes, but it’s fun and sometimes that’s enough. Also, I’m pretty sure I’ve fallen in love with it.
